ANDY MEEHAN FOR CONGRESS released the following statement:

“In response to the current Coronavirus emergency, the Pennsylvania State Legislature & Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf have agreed to propose legislation to postpone Pennsylvania’s Primary Election from April 28, 2020 until June 2, 2020.

ANDY MEEHAN FOR CONGRESS supports these measures by Pennsylvania leadership to safeguard the health & safety of all citizens, while preserving the integrity of our election process and access to the ballot box.

The Pennsylvania legislative proposal includes rescheduling the date of the upcoming Primary Election, as well as consolidation of polling locations & allowing for absentee ballots to be counted earlier.

If enacted, Pennsylvania would join several other states in postponing elections, including Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, & Ohio.
